        Di bab 1 ini, kita belajar bagaimana mengekspresikan dan merespon terhadap  berita yang menarik .Berikut beberapa dialog tentang mengekspresikan dan merespon berita yang menarik :

1.    A :    Guess what? My mom is going to buy me a new bike

B :    That’s great

2.   A :    Look at this! A man found treasure in South America!

B :    Is that true?

3.   A :    I win the Poem Competition!

B :    Congratulation!!

        Nah yang dialog udah kita baca. Sekarang kita baa kalimat yang mengekspresikan dan mengrespon berita yang menarik :

1.    Surprise! I won free lunch at the canteen!

2.   Have you heard the news? We won Math Competition!

3.   Excellent!

4.   How wonderful!

5.   What an interesting story!

Expressions of telling interesting news :

·        Look at this. You won’t believe it!

Responding to interesting news or information:

·        You know what? This story is so funny

·        That’s amazing!

·        Is that true?

·        That’s great!

·        How wonderful!

·        Congratulation!

·        Excellent!

·        How great!

·        Wow, i can’t believe it!

·        I’m glad to hear that

·        This is the most marvelous news I’ve ever read, Sir/Ma’am (for formal situation/older people)

·        I believed that news is really interest you much Sir/Ma’am (for formal situation/older people)

Question :

1.    Buatlah 2 kalimat memberitahukan berita yang menarik (Expressions of telling interesting news)!

Answer :

·        Guess what! Now, Sinta to be a model!!

·        Surprise! Happy birthday!!

2.    Buatlah 1 dialog mengrespon berita yang menarik!

Answer :

Advertisement (periklanan)

Iklan adalah media lisan atau tulisan yang mempromosikan suatu barang atau jasa kepada masyarakat. Mari kita amati iklan dibawah sebagai berikut :

1.    Usually commercial/having commercial purpose

2.   The language is persuarsive

3.   Tends to offer something,things,or services

Descriptive text

        Descriptive text is a text which presents information about something specifiacally. The purpose of descriptive text is to describe a praticular person,things,or place specifically.

The generic structures of descriptive text are :

1.    Identification : introduce a particular person,things, or place

2.   Description : describing physical appearanc,quality, behaviour,etc

Language features in descriptive text are :

1.    Using simple present tense

2.   Using adjective

3.   The use of has or have

My Cat

Blacky, that’s the name that I call. He is a domestic-male cat who I met on the road edge about 2 months ago. Now he has become my lovely cat. He has a dark black color. From his head to legs covered in black fur. He has a black mustache, so that’s why I called him, Blacky. He has a beautiful long tail. I love to bother his tail when he is asleep until he wakes up. He also has long nails. I always cut his nails at least twice a week so that he cannot scratch me. He will look so calm when I try to cut his nails.

Unlike the other cats, my cat Blacky is very active. He loves to jump around and run. I always tease him with a toy formed as a rat that I’d tied with rope. He likes to chase the toy and bit it. He is very spoiled at me. Usually, he rubs his body to my foot. When he was hungry, he always whines at me and shows his sad expression.

My cat Blacky is very clean. He never defecates inside my home. When he wants to do that, he always gets out of my home. He also loves bathing. I always bathe him once a week to keep him healthy.
